The Antarctic Report is published and managed by Camino, an independent communications agency based in Auckland, New Zealand. Our interest in the topic grew from our involvement as organisers and PR consultancy for New Zealand Science Week in 2014, when Auckland hosted a number of major scientific conferences that brought together some 1600 top international scientists, many of them working on Antarctic science.

Attending the public presentations around the hard science convinced us of the importance of Antarctica as a bellwhether of global climate change, the continent's unique political status, the exceptional demands its environment places on people and equipment, as well as its romantic allure for tourists and explorers as the least discovered continent on the planet.

This website is intended to provide a unified global portal for all things Antarctic, presented in a way that makes it accessible to readers who may not be experts in the different subject areas concerned.
